Clubs & Instructors to Avoid

With over 500 schools worldwide (250 IN THE UK) and boasting at having 25,000 members, Matt Fiddes martial arts is the biggest McDojo in the UK.  Run by 6th Dan Matt Fiddes who at 11 was 1st Dan and at age 17 achieved 4th Dan, at age 29 6th Dan.  Matt Fiddes academies are well documented as a McDojo with stories of lock in contracts, exorbitant training fees and the promise of a black belt in 2 years.  Matt Fiddes has issued legal threats against multitude of people who have spoken out about his martial arts business, stories of attempts at blackmail have been documented as well.

Gary Harrison, owner of Kicksport UK. He has Graded himself from a 5th Dan to a 10th Dan within 5 years. He has Double Grading Schemes where you can pay extra to jump up two Belt Colours. He has Black Belts Scheme where students pay £3000 & can be a Black Belt within a year, He also has been known to sleaze & harass his Female Students including Minors. Some Students have complained about smelling Fags & Alcohol on him during class.

A large organisation with over 40,000 members worldwide in america, australia, new zealand and the U.K, G.K.R are renouned for their aggressive expansion which is the reason why their instructors are of a lower grade, usually below 1st dan, these instructors are made to wear black and white belts to hide their true grade.

 The ATA boast at having over 350,000 menbers worldwide and also boast at having a staggering 1,500 independently owned clubs. Classes are held for 2 years+.  American Taekwondo Association with its 800 locations in the U.S. 18-24 months to blackbelt with them is ridiculous, and after that amount of time, their blackbelts perform no better than a green or blue belt elsewhere. Also, they copyright all their forms and techniques, and should after blackbelt you quit them, you can't show what they taught you to anyone else, for fear of lawsuits, making your knowledge useless.

Run by Grand master C.K CHANG 8TH DAN, this UK chinese kickboxing club is aparantly.lol. the most dangerous ma out there. C.K CHANG doesnt allow any video of his art due to it being sacred, senior instructors are also barred from sparring as the techniques are far too dangerous.  Black belts are achieved in 2 years so long as you go to classes and pay your money and by the wu shu kwan branded clothing and equipment, which are extremely highly priced, double the price of other places.
